Have to chime in here. Everyone should also check out the investigation that Motorcycle Consumer News did in their January and February 2003 issues. They do an indepth analysis and post all the data, then leave it up to you to decide. I have always used automotive oils and have never had any problem. I have mostly used Mobile 1 but have also used the Shell Rotella. Here in Texas I mostly use the 15w-50w grade and only for a few months in the winter will use the 10-40. The comment about supply and demand is very true and is basic economics. We all know that the motorcycle industry has exorbitant prices on some of their products, some not all. But in the end your bike is your bike and that is a very real and personal experience. Do your research and then make your choice.
